This Saturday 6th February the FIRST XV play the postponed game against Canterbury at home but at the earlier time of 2pm to accommodate the International down the road at Twickenham between England and Wales which KO at 5pm. There will be the usual pre match carvery lunch but sitting down at 12.15pm this week. Cost is £20/head which does not include match entrance or a programme and if you wish to book a place I need to know by return please.

For those of you using the club to park en route to Twickenham but not attending our game I would recommend you bring either your membership card or fixture booklet as there will be stewards on the gate charging car parking for Twickenham. You will not be subject to charge provided you can prove current club membership.

The VIKINGS, SAXONS, BARBARIANS and HEAVIES are obviously feeling the mid season strain as they are all resting this weekend. Given it is an International weekend you will appreciate that I use the term ‘resting’ loosely!
Having said that the SAXONS do in fact have a game on Monday (8th Feb) night weather permitting on the First team pitch under lights and KO at 7.30pm against the RAF Hawks. The bar will be open and all support would be very welcome

On Sunday there are no WOMENS games due to International and Regional duties. England Women begin the defence of their 6 Nations title at home against Wales at Esher on Saturday KO at 7pm. England A take on the Nomads also at Esher but on Sunday KO 4pm and Sunday also sees the start of the Regional Womens competition. As you would expect Richmond women are involved in many of the games and we wish them all good luck.

YOUTH games – U18 v Effingham away, U16 v Cobham at home KO 12pm, U15A v Old Reigations at home KO 12pm, U15B v Cranleigh at home KO 12pm, U14A v Rosslyn Park away, U13B v Haslemere at home KO 12pm

RICHMOND UNDER 11s AT TWICKENHAM
100 hundred years ago the first match played at the then new Twickenham stadium took place between Richmond and Harlequins and the first International between England and Wales. The good news was that England won, the bad news that Richmond lost.!

To commemorate these 2 momentous occasions Richmond Under 11s are taking on Harlequins Under 11s at Twickenham this Saturday as the pre match curtain raiser to the England v Wales game. They are playing two 7 a side matches of touch rugby from 4 to 4.20pm and then have the exciting task of providing the guard of honour for the arrival on the pitch of the England and Wales teams at about 4.45pm.

We will of course be glued to the box to see our lads and boys if you could restore the Richmond honour by wiping out the defeat of 100 years ago that would be good. Richmond expects nothing less – so no pressure then!

The BRANCH OFFICE will be open on Saturday in the Cardinal Vaughan Car Park from about 2pm to offer comfort and succour to all Richmond Members going to the International for a donation to the cause. Head for the Richmond flag both before and after the game and you can be sure of a warm welcome whatever the weather. It will also be open for the England v Ireland game on 27th February
