This weekend there should be enough rugby to satiate the appetite of even the most avid of fans – weather permitting of course! The FIRST XV KO proceedings when they play Clifton at home at the earlier time of 2pm to accommodate the England v Ireland game being played down the road at 4pm.

There will be the usual pre match carvery lunch sitting down at the earlier time of 12.30pm and if you wish to book a place then I do need to know by return please. Cost £20/head which does not include match entrance or programme.

The match is being sponsored by old friends Tirman, an innovative consultancy providing real business technology benefits to finance sector clients, and we thank them for their continued support and look forward to welcoming Adam Southall and his colleagues to the day.

After the match the England v Ireland game will of course be shown on the big screen so please do stay and enjoy some Richmond hospitality.

All the other senior men’s teams are also at home; the VIKINGS play Rosslyn Park II KO 1pm, the SAXONS play Henley II KO 1pm and the BARBARIANS play Kew Occasionals KO 12.30pm. The HEAVIES are rumoured to be playing the Army Vets at Aldershot on Friday evening and we are hopeful that they may have made it back to the club by Saturday afternoon

On Sunday there are no WOMENS games again due to International and Regional matches. In fact England Women take on Ireland at Esher KO 3pm.
And congratulations to the Women 3rd XV who beat Supermarine 35 – 5 on 13th Feb and Henley 5 – 3 last Sunday in the mud, placing them 3rd in Championship South West 2

The COLTS won last Sunday and are now through to Round 5 of the National Colts Plate Competition and play Ruislip at home this Sunday at 2pm. All support would be most welcome and you will certainly see some of the best rugby around.
YOUTH games; U15A v Camberley at home KO 12pm, U14A v Brighton at home KO 12pm, U14B v Rosslyn Park away
The MINIS are training at home normal time 9.30am to 11.30am

MATCH COMMENTATOR NEEDED URGENTLY
If you have always harboured a secret desire to be a match commentator well now is your chance as Mr Quigley has gone skiing and we need a volunteer to take his place for Saturday’s game! It is a serious request and if anyone is willing to step into the breach do please let me or Andrew know asap.

BRANCH OFFICE
The Branch Office will be open for the Ireland game on Saturday in the Cardinal Vaughan Car Park from about 2 pm offering suitable refreshment for a donation to the cause to those members lucky enough to be going to the International. The Richmond flag marks the spot and you can be sure of a warm welcome.

NO IRELAND TICKETS
Needless to say we have been inundated with requests for tickets to the England v Ireland game and have not been able to respond to all I am afraid. Please accept our apologies but I can confirm that there are no spare tickets available.

WOMENS LUNCH
Due to the recent dire weather the Women’s lunch planned for January has finally been rescheduled for next Sunday March 7th at 1pm before the Women’s 1st XV game against Lichfield KO 2.45pm. The 2nd XV are also at home to Hove so you are guaranteed to see some excellent rugby.
Cost is £20/head payable on the day and if you would like to book a place then please contact Women’s Chair Anita Mitchell at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

RFU GRAND DRAW RAFFLE
Many thanks to all who have so generously responded to this year’s RFU Grand Draw Raffle. Numbers are almost certainly up on last year and we have been able to obtain an extension to this weekend’s deadline to March 8th in order to raise as much money as possible. So if you have not already returned your raffle tickets then there is still time to do so and the First Prize of £10,000 cash is an attractive incentive!
