After another convincing pre season match win against Blackheath (35-26) last Saturday, the FIRST XV start their league campaign a week earlier than ever before when they play Hartpury College at home tomorrow 27th August KO 3pm. If you have not decamped for the last long weekend of the summer then please do come down and support the team in what will be one of the fiercest games of the season.
Hartpury College are new opponents and have achieved 7 consecutive promotions since their formation in 2004. They are seen as Gloucester’s Academy so are going to be a strong opposition and I know our lads are very much looking forward to the challenge. There will of course be all the new signings on show but I am delighted to report that in the squad there will be 3 lads who have come up through the Mini/Youth structure which just goes to show that the Richmond Way is working. Congratulations and good luck to Timmy Walford, Matt Keville and Jack Franklin all of whom make me feel very old as I remember them all as very little boys!!

On Saturday as both the VIKINGS and SAXONS oppositions have cried off, the teams are going to play each other for a bit of match practice KO 1pm

Annual Subscriptions
Membership cards and Season tickets together with our annual newsletter Goalposts should be dropping on your mat today if you have paid your subs for 2011/12 and the post office have done their job. If the Royal Mail black hole strikes and you do not receive these by tomorrow then come and see me in the shop so we can sort match entrance out.
If you have not paid your subs then this is a timely reminder and they can be paid by phoning the office and letting myself or Carly have your card details or alternatively if you are a fan of internet banking then you can transfer the monies direct into the club subs bank account – details as follows:
Barclays 20-72-17 A/c Richmond FC Subs 90565318 Ref: surname & initials

Season Tickets
I would mention that if you have not taken out a Season Ticket then now is the time to do so. Available to members only and costing £58 (£40 for over 65) it basically gives you nearly 4 games free, so if you intend to be at all RFC home games, then this will definitely save you money. Pre match lunches
The new lunch format will be trialled before this Saturday’s game and will consist of a 2 course ‘pub grub’ type menu plus coffee for the reduced cost of £17.50/head KO 1pm for 1.15/30pm. As you would expect it is a small lunch as so many people are still in holiday mode and if you wish to book then I do need to know by return please.

September games
Next Saturday 3rd September we are once again at home to old rivals Southend KO 3pm and if you wish to book lunch before this game then please let me know as soon as you can.
The following week 10th September we are away to Barnes, whose new DOR you may be interested to learn has just been announced as a certain Mr Brett Taylor!!
17th September sees us at home to Hertford but with a late KO of 7pm as London Scottish are entertaining Cornish Pirates at 2pm. Food plans will be announced later but is likely to be  a BBQ
The final game of the month is away to Taunton on 24th September

Mini/Youth Registration Day /OPRO mouth guard fitting
A reminder that this will be Sunday 4th September with Mini registration taking place from 9.30am and Youth Registration from 11.45am.
The usual OPRO mouth guard fitting will take place on Sunday 11th September from 10am in the Members Bar as the Sports Bar will be in use for the Rugby Ready Course which is also being run that day.

Mini/Youth Holiday Camps
The camp held this week was our biggest yet and was extremely successful albeit rather damp at times! However I know that everyone found it very useful and the coaching to be of an excellent standard, so we are going to be holding a similar one during the October half term - dates for the diary Tuesday 25th/Thurs 27th October.
If you wish to book ahead then please contact Jen or Carly on 020 8332 7112 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
