Hartpury College v Richmond Saturday 28th April
This Saturday 28th April the FIRST XV travel to Hartpury College for the final scheduled league game of the season KO 2.30pm and I know that many of you intend to come along to offer the lads the support they so richly deserve.
Lunch arrangements etc were covered in my email earlier in the week and although we have had insufficient interest to book a separate supporters’ coach, we have booked a large team coach on which there are a limited number of seats available for travelling supporters. If you have not already confirmed your place please come back to me by return if you wish to book a seat - which will be on a first come first served basis with a donation of £10/head towards travel costs very much appreciated.
For those making their own way there directions can be found here

There are no other games on Saturday as all other teams have finished their season.

On Sunday the NABS 7s tournament is taking place at the ground.
YOUTH games – U13B v Old Whitgiftians at home KO 11am
MINIS – all away at either the London Irish Festival or Surrey C Festival and if you are unsure of where you should be please contact your age group manager. Under 6 training - please contact your age group manager for details

Play Off Date 5th May
Next Saturday 5th May, barring an extraordinary set of results this coming Saturday, we shall be playing Caldy RFC at home KO 3pm in the play off game for promotion to National 1.
To say this is an historic occasion is the master of under statement, as it has taken us 12 years to get back to this position after the club went into administration at the end of the professional era debacle. So please cancel anything else you may have planned as it is definitely a day to be at the ground and shouting your heart out for our team as we strive to get back to where we once belonged.

There will be a pre match lunch before the game and I am delighted to say that normal service in the Members Bar will be resumed and as we are anticipating a large take up, early booking is advisable. Cost £22/head (does not include match entrance)

Club AGM and Election of Club Directors for 2012/13
I have advised in previous emails that the Club AGM is to be held later than usual this year on Tuesday 19th June at 7pm in the Members Bar. The relevant Calling Notice will be sent out next month.
I am pleased to report that the current Club Directors, Patrick Way and Sharon Whitehead, have indicated that they are prepared to stand for re-election. Any other nominations for the position of Club Director should be submitted to me (Jen Gadsby Peet) by close of play on 30th April. My apologies for the late notice but the double header last week and the play off next week have somewhat distracted my focus!

Shop End of Season opening hours and SALE
As there is so little activity at the ground this weekend the shop will not be open either Saturday or Sunday.
However it will be open for the last time this season for the play off game on Saturday 5th May 12.30pm to 3pm and then half an hour after the end of the match.
The end of season SALE is still taking place with the vast majority of product now reduced by 25%. Not to be missed and includes both adults and kids sizes and all shirts, shorts, socks, T shirts, polo shirts, waterproof training tops, after match jackets, hoodies, fleeces, track pants, beanies, baseball caps, as well as the baselayer T shirts and shorts and all protective wear such as head guards, shoulder pads not to mention back packs and boots.
Although not open this weekend and although not officially open during the week, if you are passing we will be happy to accommodate.

Awards will be made during the dinner to players from every section of the club from the U7s to the oldest Heavy, as well as recognising the coaches, managers and medical team that help keep the players on the field and the supporters that cheer them on in all weathers.
It is open to all – wives girlfriends, partners etc – and dress code is No 1s.
Cost includes a 3 course meal in the Members Bar and is £21.50/students, £27.50/players, coaches, managers, physios and £35.50/others

Marathon Men/Swimathon Weekend
Congratulations to Vikings Coach Steve Lawrence and First XV players Tom Chesters and David West who all completed the London Marathon last Sunday.
Not to be outdone Senior Physio Miriam Williams is swimming 5K for Marie Curie Cancer Care this weekend and if you would like to support her please click here

The Scrum BBC London 94.9FM tonight Thursday 26th April 9pm
Tonight’s programme is of particular interest as Richmond Director Tony Gadsby Peet joins the team in the studio together with Ealing Director Dick Craig and London Scottish CEO Tony Copsey will also be on the show after they survived last Saturdays showdown with Esher to stay in the Championship.
If you can’t listen live then listen again here

Sainsbury’s and Tesco’s schools and clubs equipment promotions
Many thanks to those of you who have dropped in vouchers from both the Sainsbury’s and Tesco’s equipment promotion. The Sainsbury promotion finished on April 10th, whilst the Tesco one continues for some while yet, and although the shop will soon be closed for the season please do post any vouchers you may collect to the office address
These vouchers have made a significant contribution to our junior equipment in the past, so your continued support of these initiatives would be much appreciated.
