Richmond 20 Caldy 13
Club AGM Tuesday 19th June Members Bar 7pm
10K Run Saturday August 18th
Mini/Youth August Pre season Training Camp 28th, 29th, 30th August
And finally….THANKYOU

The match on 5th May against a valiant Caldy side was one of the most exciting, nerve racking games that has ever been played at Richmond and was only won in the last minutes of extra time, 20 – 13. This now takes Richmond back to National 1 (level 3), which many feel is their natural home, and which is where the club was playing when the days of professionalism beckoned. The full match report can be read here and congratulations must go to all the players, coaches, managers, support staff and supporters, not to mention the long suffering Board and our White Knights Messrs Hallett, Dorman and Chairman Peter Moore, and remembering David Corben who sadly could not see his greatest ambition achieved - all of whom have worked so tirelessly towards this victory. It has been hard won and is all the more precious for that.

We can now all relax for a short while before we put plans in place for the 2012/13 season which promises to be extremely exciting with games against old rivals Blackheath and Rosslyn Park not to mention Old Albanians, Ealing and Esher. Draft fixtures have been issued and whilst I would stress that these are not yet confirmed (the small matter of the London Scottish Championship matches needs to be agreed!) it is certain that our first game is scheduled for Saturday 1st September and at present looks as though it will be at home. So put that date in the diary.

Before we sign off for the summer there are a few dates to remind you of:

Club AGM Tuesday 19th June Members Bar 7pm
I have advised in previous emails that the Club AGM is to be held later than usual this year on Tuesday 19th June at 7pm in the Members Bar. The relevant Calling Notice was sent out at the end of May together with details of the new subscription rates for 2012/13.

Saturday August 18th

The Family Fun Day that we had planned for this date will now be held at a suitable home match in September/October tba. However the First XV squad are still playing pre season warm up matches on this Saturday providing a show case for the new summer signings so a date still very much for the diary

Mini/Youth August Pre season Training Camp
Now that the summer half term has come and gone, thoughts are turning to the long summer holidays, so an opportune moment to remind you of the pre season summer camp we are intending to hold on Tuesday 28th, Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th August. Run once again by James Brooks, First XV player and coach, the focus will be on preparing the boys/girls for the new season ahead with hopefully a couple of International players coming along to share their skills.
The intention is to cater for all age groups from Under 6 to Under 17 although that range will of course depend on take up. So perhaps an ideal opportunity for an age group to get together and make a block booking (we are always open to discount discussions!) to take advantage of the very high level of coaching skills that Mr Brooks and his team bring to the party. Having helped the First XV reach National 1 speaks for itself!
The cost is £25/day/child (siblings get a 10% discount) with a discount for 3 days of £70. You can come for one day or all three - we do something different every day. You do not have to be a Richmond member as the camp is open to all boys and girls so friends are very welcome.
Registration is at 9.30am and a packed lunch will be needed plus plenty of drinks as well as clothing suitable to the weather and boots and trainers plus mouth guards where necessary. Collection is at 3.30pm.

And finally….THANKYOU
A very big thank you to all of you who have supported Richmond not only this season but during the last 12 years as we have made our way up the leagues. In whatever capacity and in whichever section of Richmond your interest lies, we could not have done it without you and the strong integrated club we are today is a testament to that.

Summer well – and roll on the Might Mond to 2012/13!!!
