LSFC v RFC Friday 24th August KO 7.30pm
Following their extremely promising performance against Blackheath last Saturday, the First XV’s second pre season match is the ‘friendly’ (!!) against London Scottish tomorrow, Friday evening, KO 7.30pm.
As previously advised London Scottish are charging match entrance  -  £10/head which is a special members rate, but you will need to produce your 2011/12 membership card to obtain the discount. I have also been asked to emphasise that if you wish to sit in the stand, this rate only applies to the stadium wings (Highlander area in Scot speak). If you wish to sit in the centre of the stand (aka 1878 area) you need to pay £15.
As I understand it, the last 30 minutes of the game are free entrance.

Vikings
On Saturday, the Vikings are in action in their own pre season friendly at home against Bournemouth KO 2.30pm

First League Game RFC v Wharfedale Saturday 1st September KO 3pm
The first League game of the season takes place on Saturday 1st September KO 3pm at home against new opponents Wharfedale. We hope to have a bumper crowd for our first match in National 1 so please do come along if you can and give the lads the support that they so much appreciate and so richly deserve at the beginning of a season that will certainly be a challenge.

Pre match lunches 2012/13
There will be the usual 3 course lunch before the game but I am afraid that due to ever rising costs the caterers have had to increase their charge, and consequently lunch will be £25/head this season, although we are including a programme in the price to ease the pain somewhat.
Bookings are now open so why not come and see our new President Nick Preston make his debut and welcome some new friends from north of the Watford Gap

Annual Subscriptions/Season Tickets/Match entrance charges 2012/13
Membership cards and Season tickets together with our annual newsletter Goalposts, will be sent out next week before 1st September so all that have paid their subs for 2012/13 will have their cards in time for the first home game.
Match entrance has increased for the new season to £6 for Members and £12 for Non Members. Member Students, U21s and all under 16s, as well as serving members of the armed forces go free and Non Member Students, U21s pay £6 on production of a valid Student Card.
Season Tickets are also available to members only and costing £70 (£50 for over 65 years) it gives you 4 games free (rising to 7 games for the over 65s!), so if you intend to be at all RFC home games, then this will definitely save you money. If you do not receive a card then you know you have not paid your subs and you will be on Mr Gordon’s hit list – you have been warned! To make payment easier, Richmond has finally moved into the digital age allowing you to complete your membership/season ticket application on line and to pay by Direct Debit annually, both of which will make life simpler for you and your club. Mini/Youth Registration Day
This will be Sunday 2nd September with Mini registration taking place from 9.30am and Youth Registration from 11.45am.

OPRO mouth guard fitting
The usual OPRO mouth guard fitting will take place on Sunday 9th September from 10am in the Sports Bar.

Pre Season Kids Camp
A reminder that the camp takes place the week after next on Tuesday 28th, Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th August and covers U6s – U12s. The camp will be run by James Brooks, our very valuable First XV player and coach from last season, and the focus will be on preparing the players for the new season ahead with hopefully a couple of International players (STOP PRESS: England Internationals, James Haskell and Tim Payne will be popping in to the Wednesday session!) coming along to share their skills.
The cost is £25/day/child (siblings get a 10% discount) with a discount for 3 days of £70. You can come for one day or all three - we do something different every day. You do not have to be a Richmond member as the camp is open to all boys and girls so friends are very welcome.
Registration is at 9.30am and a packed lunch will be needed plus plenty of drinks as well as clothing suitable to the weather (hopefully that means you will need sun cream) and boots and trainers plus mouth guards where necessary. Collection is at 3.30pm.
If you wish to book then please contact Jen or Carly on 020 8332 7112 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Book your travel to away matches through easyfunding
From examination of the Fixture list for the new season it will become apparent that the First XV will be making quite a few forays into northern parts, the first of which will be on 22nd September when they visit Sedgley Park in Manchester KO 2.30pm.
The team are travelling by train (9.40am from Euston returning 18.55pm from Manchester Piccadilly) and I would encourage any supporter that wishes to make the trip to book sooner rather than later to secure the best price.
Virgin trains are the carrier and if you book on line through easyfunding (click here ) then you earn 1% of your fare for the club – so please do make a note for future reference.
