CLUB UPDATE: RETURN TO RUGBY

We are excited to welcome all sections back to Richmond.

Following the RFU’s announcement regarding the return of community rugby, we are delighted to confirm the training resumption dates for all sections of our club.

Training will resume at the Athletic Ground under the RFU’s Stage D1 guidelines with approved COVID-19 safety measures in place to ensure a safe environment for all players, coaches and staff. Further guidance will be provided by the team coaches, including pitch locations and exact days for training. New players of all abilities are welcome to attend.

COVID SAFETY MEASURES

  • Please do not attend training if you or anyone you live with are isolating or has COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Hand santiser will be available at multiple locations throughout the venue. Please make sure you thoroughly wash your hands and use santiser before, during and after club training.
  • When inside any venue facility please make sure you are wearing a face covering.
  • Please inform the club/coach/team manager as soon as possible, if you or someone you live with test positive for COVID-19 and please do not attend the venue.
  • As per government guidelines, spectators are strictly not allowed at club training sessions.
  • For Youth training, we ask that only one parent per child are in attendance.

Richmond Senior Men (Non-Championship players):
From Thursday 1st April

Richmond Senior Women:
From Friday 2nd April

Richmond Heavies:
From Saturday 3rd April

Richmond Mini & Youth:
From Sunday 4th April

RUGBY ACTIVITY & SEASON LENGTH

To give all playing sections the opportunity to return to training and adjust to the Stage D1 guidelines, we will look to organise Ready 4 Rugby tournaments and friendly fixtures in due course.

The current season will run from Tuesday 30th March to the weekend of 22nd and 23rd May. Will then break over the summer months before returning for a normal 2021/22 rugby season.
