Confirmed new signings ahead of the 2026/27 season

13 new players sign ahead of the new season.

Richmond Rugby is delighted to announce a number of new signings ahead of the 2026/27 Champ season.

Blending proven National One experience, standout BUCS talent and international age-grade honours, the new arrivals add quality, depth and competition across the squad as preparations continue for the new campaign.

Tom Riman
Centre | 195cm | 103kg

Loughborough University standout Tom Riman joins Richmond after being named in the BUCS Super Rugby Team of the Season. He also brings England Students experience and a strong academy background from Gloucester Rugby.

"I’m really excited to be joining Richmond. It’s clear there is a great culture around the club, and to be part of one of the most historic clubs in the game is an honour."

Fergus Dick
Back Row | 190cm | 102kg

Fergus Dick arrives from Rams after competing in National One. The former Bristol Bears Academy player has also represented England Students, captained Loughborough University and served as Oxford University Vice-Captain.

"I am really looking forward to the upcoming season. I’ve heard great things about the club and I can’t wait to meet all the lads and get involved."

Cody Mitchell
Scrum-Half | 182cm | 90kg

Cody Mitchell returns to Richmond after previously representing the club during the 2023/24 season while travelling from New Zealand. He brings experience with New Zealand Ambassadors XV, Steelform Whanganui, Auckland Development and Auckland Under-19s.

"I’m looking forward to playing a different style of footy and getting stuck into training with all the lads there and hopefully we crack into a successful season across all grades at the club."

Conor Oresanya
Wing | 184cm | 83kg

Conor Oresanya joins from Leeds Beckett University after previously spending time in the Harlequins Senior Academy and representing England Under-20s.

"I’m very excited about joining Richmond. I’m hoping to add speed and create great memories for everyone involved. Can’t wait to see everyone there and run out in front of the great fans."

Austin Hay
Prop | 183cm | 118kg

Tighthead prop Austin Hay joins Richmond from rivals London Scottish. Hay previously represented Bedford Blues and Rosslyn Park after progressing through the London Irish pathway.

"I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a proud club with a rich history and I’m looking forward to embracing the challenges ahead, contributing everything I can to the team, and growing both on and off the pitch."

Charlie Bell
Second Row | 194cm | 115kg

Charlie Bell makes the move from Exeter Chiefs, where he represented both the club and the University of Exeter over the past three seasons in BUCS Super Rugby before stepping up to the Champ.

"I’m really excited to be joining Richmond and looking forward to the season ahead. I’m eager to get stuck in, meet a new group of players and test myself at Champ level."

Rowan Grundy
Centre | 179cm | 87kg

A familiar face returns to the Richmond Athletic Ground as Rowan Grundy rejoins his boyhood club. Having progressed through Richmond's age-grade pathway, he returns after making 66 National One appearances across five seasons with Rams.

"I’m incredibly excited to be joining Richmond for the upcoming season. The opportunity to represent the club I grew up playing for and supporting is something I’ve always hoped would be part of my rugby journey."

James Beverley
Fly-Half | 188cm | 94kg

James Beverley joins Richmond after a successful spell with the University of Bath, helping the side secure the 2025/26 BUCS League and Championship titles. He also gained valuable experience with Sydney University Rugby Club's Colts.

"Richmond is a club I have admired for a long time now. It’s great to now be a part of the club and I can’t wait to get started."

Eric Nixon
Prop | 180cm | 122kg

Eric Nixon joins from Loughborough University after spending a season in Hong Kong with Hong Kong Scottish. The Venezuelan-born prop has also captained Millfield School and represented England Students.

"I’m thrilled to join Richmond for an exciting season ahead. A club with great ambition and community, I look forward to giving my best and getting stuck in."

Hugo Culverhouse

Hugo Culverhouse returns to his boyhood club after spells with Tonbridge Juddians, Guernsey Raiders and St Mary's University.

"I’m incredibly excited to be joining Richmond for the upcoming season. The opportunity to represent the club I grew up playing for and supporting is something I’ve always hoped would be part of my rugby journey."

Ben Wright
Hooker | 186cm | 108kg

Hooker Ben Wright joins from Newcastle University after progressing through the Newcastle Falcons Under-18 pathway, taking the next step in his development at Richmond.

"I’m delighted to be joining Richmond Rugby Club. The ambition, culture, and people here really stood out to me, and I can’t wait to get started."

Boris Ames
Wing | 192cm | 91kg

Boris Ames arrives from Durham University 1st XV following previous spells with Taunton Titans and Maidenhead RFC.

"I am looking forward to getting stuck in at Richmond, taking my rugby to the next level, and meeting a good group of lads along the way."

Sam Reynolds
Fullback | 180cm | 87kg

Sam Reynolds joins Richmond after spending two seasons in Japan with Kyoto Logistar'z. Prior to his time overseas, he represented Oxford University Blues for three years.

"After playing against a touring Richmond team in Kyoto and coming out on the wrong side, I thought it only made sense to follow through on the saying, 'If you can't beat them, join them.'"

The club looks forward to welcoming all of our new arrivals as preparations continue for the 2026/27 Champ season.
