JOHN GALLAGHER STEPS DOWN

JOHN GALLAGHER STEPS DOWN

Tom Soulsby28 Jul 2021 - 13:15

Richmond U21s Team Manager announces retirement.

Richmond can confirm long-standing U21s Team Manager John Gallagher has retired from his position with immediate effect.

John joined Richmond as a minis parent nearly 20 years ago. He fast became the age group manager where he remained throughout his climb through the minis and youth and into the U21s, mentoring the players as they made the transition into senior rugby. Working with and motivating teenagers is always a challenge and one that John rose to magnificently, with patience and good humour and the retention and success of the age group is in no small part down to John’s hard work and commitment. On behalf of everyone at Richmond, we would like to thank John for his enormous contribution, dedication and loyalty to our club and we look forward to seeing him at the Athletic Ground for many years to come.

Stepping into John's role will be long-serving club volunteer Peter Scott who first joined Richmond in 2005. Peter has a wealth of coaching and management experience, including 12 years in the minis and youth section, and six seasons as Minis Chairman. Peter will link up with new U21s Head Coach Dom Palacio ahead of an exciting 2021/22 season.
