Titch joined RFC in September 1963 along with other Club stalwarts, Chris Ralston, Ian Botes and Robert Vallings amongst others.
Prior to joining RFC, Titch played for Old Hamptonians, where he went to school, for a couple of seasons. He played for the 1st team ‘about 20 times’ although he admitted several of these games were ‘on tour’.
He was a talented fly-half and full-back and also a good goal kicker, and despite his small stature his team mates remember him as a fearless tackler.
Most importantly of all, he was very good company and a great tourist. He was particularly knowledgeable about all sports and founded his own sports marketing company.
In addition to his membership of RFC, he was also a member of MCC, RAC Club and Royal Wimbledon GC where he was much loved.
He was very much a Richmond man, and will be sorely missed by everyone at the club who knew him.
Our thoughts go out to his family at this tough time.
