NEW RICHMOND PLAYERS ANNOUNCED

We are delighted to confirm our new Richmond players for the Men's Championship season.

Director of Rugby Steve Hill has today confirmed the exciting list of new players who have joined Richmond ahead of the 2021/22 Men’s Championship season. As usual, Richmond has retained the vast majority of its squad from last season, with a number of new players joining the club who add both Championship experience and a desire to play elite rugby.

The new players include:

  • Ntinga Mpiko – Tight-Head Prop (Lansdowne FC)
  • Will Carrick-Smith – Second-Row (Bedford Blues)
  • Cameron Gray – Second-Row (Chinnor RFC)
  • Miles Wakeling – Flanker (London Scottish)
  • Ethan Benson – Flanker (Saracens)
  • Mark Bright – Number 8 (London Scottish)
  • Jack Rouse – Number 8 (Ealing Trailfinders)
  • James Lennon – Scrum-Half (Bedford Blues)
  • Alex Crocker – Scrum-Half (Nottingham Rugby)
  • Zuriel Makele – Centre (University of Nottingham)
  • Craig Duncan – Centre (London Scottish)
  • Will Homer – Fullback/Scrum-Half (Scarlets)
  • Owain James – Fullback (Wasps Rugby)

In addition, the following players have joined the club with BUCS Super Rugby experience:

  • James Hadfield – Hooker (University of Bath)
  • Jared Cardew – Flanker (Exeter University)
  • Edward Morgan – Scrum-Half/Fly-Half (Nottingham Trent University)
  • Tom Ffitch – Fly-Half (Loughborough University)
  • Alex Burrage – Fly-Half (University of Bath)

DOR Steve Hill commented: “We are excited to welcome our new players to Richmond for what will hopefully be a full and normal season for all senior club teams. The Men’s First XV squad has been training since the beginning of July and we look forward to the visit of Ampthill this coming Saturday in the first of two pre-season fixtures.”

Information regarding 2021/22 player sponsorship will be announced to members and supporters in due course.
