Phil joins Richmond with over two decades of senior leadership experience in the sport and events industry, most notably as a Regional Director for The Jockey Club, where he led commercial operations at some of the UK’s most iconic racecourses. His background in delivering large-scale events, building commercial success, and fostering community engagement makes him exceptionally well-placed to support Richmond Rugby’s long-term ambitions, both on and off the field.
Nick Preston, Chairman of Richmond Rugby, said:
“Phil has a wealth of experience, working in Sport as well as working in event driven organisations. In short he was the ideal candidate. In the short time that I have known him, he has demonstrated a detailed understanding of how our financial reporting needs to operate as well as a very clear approach to the running of events - large or small.
We also introduced him to a number of our senior staff in advance of him being offered the job, and I have no doubt that he will be an influential and popular member of our team. I would encourage you all to introduce yourselves at the earliest opportunity.”
Phil White commented:
"I am really excited to join Richmond Rugby, a Club with such a proud history and an exciting future. I’ve been hugely impressed by the passion of the team here and the strength of the community that underpins everything. I’m excited to build on that foundation and help drive the Club forward, growing our impact, strengthening our operations, and creating the best possible experience for our players, supporters, and partners."
Phil begins his new role with immediate effect.
