The RFU Council has tonight made the difficult decision to cancel the Adult Competitive Leagues (Level 3 and below for Men, Level 2 and below for Women) for the 2020/21 season. CLICK HERE to read the full statement.
Please see our club response below:
Richmond Rugby understands the reasons behind the cancellation of the 2020/21 adult competitive league season (Men’s Level 3 and below) and (Women’s Level 2 and below) but remain optimistic that friendly fixtures might still be a possibility for all senior Richmond Men’s and Women’s teams in the new year. We will keep all sections updated with any further information we receive and will continue all club activity under the RFU’s Stage D guidelines and the latest COVID-19 safety measures.
The RFU Men’s Championship will likely start in January for our Men’s First XV, subject to the Government’s Elite Return to Play protocols. Again we will keep all members fully updated with any further developments.
Thank you again for your continued support and patience during this challenging time for us all. We hope you and your family are keeping safe and we look forward to seeing you all back at the club as soon as we can.
Our very best wishes,
Richmond Rugby
