Richmond has named an exciting 23-player squad for tomorrow’s Greene King IPA Championship fixture against Jersey Reds at the Athletic Ground (KO 13:30 – Click here for live stream tickets).
The squad features a number of rotational changes to the team that faced Pirates last Saturday, with Director of Rugby Steve Hill keen to provide his large playing group with an opportunity to impress at Championship level, following a long preseason and with all players performing strongly at training during the week.
In the pack, hooker Jack Musk will make his Richmond debut after joining the club on dual-registration from Harlequins. The 21-year-old, who has represented England at U16, U17 and U18 level, has 12 Harlequins appearances to his name and will be an exciting addition to the Richmond pack. He will be joined by Jonny Harris and Kurt Schonert in the front-row, with Schonert making his first start of the 2020/21 season. Elsewhere, Byron Hodge returns to the second-row to partner the in-form Freddie Hosking, while Myles Scott starts at number 8, with Jesse Liston moving to the number six shirt.
In the backs, playmaker Ted Landray will make his first-team debut at fly-half, replacing the rested Tom Hodgson, while former Chinnor, Yorkshire Carnegie and London Welsh centre Chris Wolfe-Elder will start at inside centre and make his first appearance in Richmond colours. Dan Kelly will earn his 23rd cap on the left wing, while Jake Caddy and Will Kaye resume their positions in the back three. Skipper Cameron Mitchell continues at outside centre to add to his 118 First XV caps.
On the bench, hooker Mike Perks (on loan from Blackheath) and ex London Irish lock Sam Collingridge are in line to make their Richmond debuts. While there are returns for prop Jake Byrne, scrum-half Callum Watson and wing/fullback Hamish Graham. Fly-half Lewis Dennett is set to make his first appearance of the 2020/21 season.
Unavailable for selection due to injury include: Timmy Walford, Jake Parker, Tom Pashley, Toby Saysell, Charlie Gowling, Ben Rath, George Oram and Oli Evans.
