Last Sunday, ten members of Richmond Rugby’s Walking Rugby team made the trip to Esher to take part in a friendly but competitive walking rugby tournament.
Under blue skies and sunshine, the team played eight matches throughout the day. Richmond won four of their eight games, placing solidly in the middle of the tournament standings and showcasing great teamwork and energy.
Luke Spring, Co-Head of Community at Richmond Rugby, praised the team’s efforts:
“We are very proud of what our walking rugby team have done over the years, and the fact that we can now compete in tournaments like this is brilliant.”
The club looks forward to continuing to grow its walking rugby programme, which offers a fun and active way to stay involved in the game, regardless of age or ability.
