THE THRIVE APP: YOUR PERSONAL MENTAL FITNESS COACH

THE THRIVE APP: YOUR PERSONAL MENTAL FITNESS COACH

Tom Soulsby24 Apr 2020 - 10:52

A key part of Richmond Rugby’s Mental Wellbeing programme is the Thrive App, an award-winning, NHS-approved smartphone App.

It supports over two million people globally and we are delighted to offer it free to you during this extraordinary period. The app can help you manage your mental wellbeing, stress and anxiety in as little as 5 minutes.

What are the benefits of the Thrive Mental Wellbeing App?

- Allows you to measure and manage your mental wellbeing. Just like we measure our physical health through fitness trackers or our financial health through digital banking apps, the Thrive App uses NHS-approved assessments to help improve our awareness, understanding and impact of how we’re feeling.
- Helps build resilience to anxiety and stress. By practising the techniques in the Thrive App, you will learn to build your resilience to the stresses, pressures and anxieties life throws your way.
- Offers a personalised experience. We are all unique and when it comes to our mental wellbeing, one size doesn’t fit all, so whatever your situation, there are a number of proven techniques, exercises and strategies within the Thrive App to help you improve your mental wellbeing.

What’s in the Thrive App?

- Goals and progress. After going through your assessment, the App will suggest some goals and exercises based on your personal situation. The ‘Progress’ section allows you to track your progress over time.
- Learn how to use CBT. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the most powerful and effective non-pharmaceutical solution to mental health issues. CBT is a valuable life skill which helps retrain negative thoughts to promote a more healthy and resilient way of thinking and feeling. It is a proven technique to help you deal with situations better.
- Guided meditation, relaxation and breathing exercises. There are mindfulness techniques, distraction-therapy games, relaxation sessions to help you sleep, and much more within the App.

How do I get the Thrive App?

- Download on the App Store or get it in Google Play and use “RFC001” to set up your account.
- Your Thrive “mental fitness coach in your pocket” is always available (24/7, 365 days a year) so you can access it whenever you need it.
- Thrive works well as a day-to-day self-management app whilst also having the capability to support and intervene if it detects risks of certain conditions.
