Double Header at Blackheath, Saxons face Green Gazelles and the Normans face Battersea Ironsides at The RAG & Richmond u20s v London Welsh u20s!

Blackheath v Men’s 1st XV – 3pm KO – Saturday 7th September

After a strong pre-season beating Dorking and the Intra-Club Clash, this Saturday, Rob Powell’s men start their 2024/25 National League 1 campaign with a trip to The Utilita for ‘The Big Match 2’. The last time these sides met was back in the 160th anniversary clash in March 2024 and Richmond came out 22-13 winners and will be looking to start their campaign with a win.

Blackheath Rugby Club Address: The Utilita, Blackheath Rugby Club, Kidbrooke Lane, Eltham, SE9 6TE

Blackheath v Vikings – 1pm KO – Saturday 7th September

The Vikings kick off their league campaign with a trip to Blackheath to kick off the double-header starting at 1pm.

Saxons v Green Gazelles Rugby Club - Big Green Clash – 3pm KO - Sunday 8th September

On Sunday, the Saxons face Green Gazelles Rugby Club kicking off at 3pm at the Richmond Athletic Ground. This is the first event of its kind putting a spotlight on how sport can inspire a more eco-friendly and compassionate future.

Before the rugby kicks off, there will be a Sports Climate Summit starting at 1pm with 100+ VIPs attending, an Eco Village made up of best local and eco-friendly stalls and kids’ activities. Everyone is welcome!

VIP Attendees include: Heather Mills, Clare Nasir, Jamie Laing, Claire Poole and many more.

Normans v Battersea Ironsides 2s – 2:30pm KO - Saturday 7th September

On Saturday, the Normans play Battersea Ironsides 2s at the Richmond Athletic Ground. The Normans had a strong win over Kew Occasionals last weekend winning 36-28 as they look to keep this momentum going.

Richmond u20s v London Welsh u20s - 7pm KO - Friday 6th September

Why not come down to the RAG on Friday Night to watch our U20s renew their rivalry with our friends at London Welsh.

Our u20/u22s pathway is an increasingly important age group for the Club as we look to smooth the transition from junior to adult rugby and retain the boys as part of our #AClubForLife vision.

Many of the u20s played Colts rugby, and before that Youth & Minis rugby at Richmond. Some are transitioning to adult rugby at Richmond (several played for the Normans at the weekend).
