Richmond Men’s 1st XV are back at the RAG this Saturday for their first home run-out of the 2025/26 season, as they host Cambridge in the final pre-season fixture. Kick-off is at 2:30pm.
It’s been 21 weeks since Richmond Men’s 1st XV lifted the National League 1 trophy at the Richmond Athletic Ground, and Rob Powell’s side now return to familiar turf as preparations for the new Champ Rugby campaign reach their conclusion. After two stern tests against Blackheath and United Rugby Championship side Cardiff, the squad will be eager to make one last statement before the competitive action begins.
Cambridge make the trip south having played just one pre-season fixture so far, a narrow 36-33 defeat against Ulster ‘A’. They finished 12th in last season’s Champ and will be looking to lay down a marker ahead of the league opener, providing a useful benchmark for Richmond as newcomers.
Supporters can also look forward to a packed day of rugby at the RAG. The Heavies kick off the afternoon against Barnes Vets on Pitch 5 at 1:00pm, while the Vikings take on Esher Cardinals on Pitch 3 at 1:30pm - the perfect build-up to the 1st XV clash on the pitch 1.
Tickets start from £8 and free for all 2025/26 Richmond Rugby members and Under 16s.
In addition, the Murray Judd Bar will be showing the Women’s Rugby World Cup semi-final between England and New Zealand, which kicks off at 15:10.
