Round 26 sees Richmond make the trip to Kingsey Road this weekend for the final fixture of the regular Elior Champ Rugby season, as they take on Chinnor with a 3pm kick-off.

The sides last met back in Round 1 at the RAG, where Richmond opened the campaign with a hard-fought 18-13 victory in a closely contested encounter. Since then, Chinnor have put together an impressive season and currently sit fifth in the table, with this weekend’s result set to determine their playoff opponents heading into next week.

For Richmond, there is less riding on the result after last weekend’s win over London Scottish secured a home playoff. The fixture instead offers a chance to rotate the squad, manage workloads and reward players who have impressed throughout the season.

Chinnor have built their campaign on physicality and consistency, particularly at home, where they have developed strong momentum. Their ability to play with tempo and attack from transition has caused problems for sides across the league, while their confidence heading into the playoffs makes them a dangerous opponent.

For Richmond, the match also provides another opportunity to showcase the depth within the squad. The inclusion of players stepping up from the Vikings setup reflects the strength of the club pathway and allows individuals to stake their claim ahead of next week’s playoff fixture.
