Round Four of the Elior Champ Rugby season sees Richmond make the trip to Kingsey Road this Saturday, as they take on Chinnor with a 3pm kick-off.
The hosts have made a strong start to the new campaign and currently sit fifth in the table, having won their last two fixtures against Bedford Blues and Caldy. Richmond, meanwhile, are still searching for their first victory of the season after a challenging opening three rounds.
Richmond head into the weekend looking to bounce back from last Saturday’s defeat to reigning champions Worcester Warriors at the RAG. Despite showing promising spells across their opening fixtures, Rob Powell’s side will be determined to put together a more complete performance and turn those positives into a result.
Chinnor have carried their momentum from last season into the new campaign, building on the physicality and attacking ambition that saw them establish themselves as one of the Champ’s competitive sides. Their recent victories have highlighted their ability to play at tempo and capitalise on opportunities, making them a tough prospect on home soil.
The two sides last met at Kingsey Road in the final round of the 2025/26 regular season, where Chinnor came away with a 29-14 victory. Richmond will be looking for a different outcome this time around, having also shown they can get the better of Saturday’s opponents with an 18-13 win at the RAG in last season’s opening round.
With Chinnor looking to extend their winning run and Richmond eager to get points on the board, Saturday presents another important test for the Men’s 1st XV as they look to build momentum in the early stages of the season.
