Who We Are
For nearly 40 years, Nyetimber has had one single aim: crafting exceptional English sparkling wine that rivals the very best in the world.

A true pioneer, Nyetimber was the first producer of English sparkling wine to exclusively grow the three celebrated grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. Regarded by many as England's finest sparkling wine, Nyetimber is made from one hundred percent estate-grown grapes.

Owner and CEO Eric Heerema acquired Nyetimber in 2006 and is the visionary and driving force behind Nyetimber today. Eric works with Head Winemaker Cherie Spriggs and Senior Winemaker Brad Greatrix to produce wine of extraordinary elegance and quality. Cherie Spriggs was named 'Sparkling Winemaker of the Year' at the International Wine Challenge 2018; the first person from outside of Champagne, and still the only woman to win this prestigious award. Nyetimber has 11 vineyards spanning 430 hectares in West Sussex, Hampshire, and Kent.

Our Richmond Connection
As the exclusive sparkling wine of the RFU and England Rugby, we wanted to support players and fans at every level of the game, from the elite stage through to grassroots.

As a pioneering club, with close ties to Allianz and a proud history of championing both the men’s and women’s game, we are delighted to be the sparkling wine partner of Richmond.

We are thrilled to be at the heart of life’s most special moments - from celebrating a Player of the Match and enjoying a glass at the RAG with friends, to raising a toast to life’s key milestones, from engagements and weddings to Christmas celebrations.

What would be Nyetimber’s team karaoke song?
Probably something like Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey - a nod to our pioneering heritage and our unwavering belief that English sparkling wine could rival the very best in the world.

Back in 1988, Nyetimber’s founding owners, Stuart and Sandy Moss, were told to plant apples and make cider, and that producing world-class sparkling wine in the UK simply wasn’t possible.

How wrong the critics were. That belief, determination and pioneering spirit went on to prove that English sparkling wine could not only compete with the very best but stand proudly alongside them.

If you could invite three people, past or present, to watch a game with you, who would they be?
Continuing the pioneering theme, we’d love to explore just how far the game has come by bringing together some of the people who have helped shape its story.

We’d start with William Webb Ellis, giving him the chance to see how the game he famously inspired has evolved, developed and grown into the global sport it is today.

Richmond Board Member Deborah Griffin would bring a powerful perspective as a true pioneer in the women’s game. From her involvement in the founding of the Women’s Rugby World Cup to becoming the first female President of the RFU, her story reflects the determination and vision that have helped drive the game forward.

And finally, Jamie George - Nyetimber ambassador, England legend and Super Taster. Jamie is an incredible player and, just as importantly, an exceptional person both on and off the pitch. It would be a real pleasure to share a glass of Nyetimber with him pitch-side, celebrating the game and the people who have pioneered it.

We have to back Richmond for the win - but it’s a close one. Richmond to take it 21–19.
