Designed as the perfect introduction to the world of rugby, this taster day invites girls aged U12 to U18 to step onto the pitch, develop new skills, hear from the women who play, and discover what makes Richmond Rugby so special.
Join us for a fun, welcoming, and action-packed morning that will give girls a chance to experience rugby in a relaxed and supportive environment – no experience necessary!

What's the Plan?
• 10:00am – Arrival, Teas & Coffees
Start the day by grabbing a complimentary hot drink and meeting some of our friendly players, coaches, and volunteers.
• 10:15am – 10:55am – Presentation & Q&A
A welcome talk from Deborah Griffin OBE, the RFU’s first female and next President. Hear from women and girls across our club’s female sections with presentations on:
1. The sporting opportunities rugby leads to
2. Richmond's community spirit and how to get involved
3. The importance of Player safety, health and wellbeing
• Book signing with Jessica Hayden, author of "The Red Roses: Behind the Scenes with the England Women's Rugby Team"
• 11:00am – 12:15pm – Skills Rotation
Get active with four fun rugby drills, led by England legends Fiona Pocock and Abi Chamberlain each lasting 15 minutes, designed to teach core skills and give everyone a chance to get involved – whatever your experience level. There’ll be short breaks between each station to catch your breath, hydrate, and reset.
• 12:15pm onwards – Club Bar Open
Wrap up the day with a relaxed visit to the clubhouse, where the bar will be open and everyone is welcome to stay and chat.
This event is open to all girls in school years 6-13 (U12 to U18). Whether you’re completely new to the game or already have some experience, we’d love to see you there.
Bring sportswear, trainers or boots, and a water bottle. We'll take care of the rest.
