A Legacy of Excellence
Founded in 1986, Richmond Women were one of the first women’s rugby teams in England. In 1990, four Richmond players helped launch the inaugural Women’s Rugby World Cup, cementing the club’s place at the heart of the sport’s history.

Richmond was also the first club to field two women’s teams and later 3 teams – a commitment to development that continues to this day. The club has won nine Premiership titles – second only to Saracens – including a dominant run from 2010 to 2012, where they lifted three consecutive championships.

In the 2024/25 season, Richmond’s 1st XV reached the Championship South 1 final at the Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, continuing our proud tradition of success.

What Our Players Say

“Richmond provides an environment for individual growth and development, allowing you to reach your playing potential. What really stands out is the strong culture and positive values. This, along with the knowledge and support of the coaching team, brings the best out of every player.”
— Becci de Garston-Webb, Richmond Women’s 1st XV Captain

“Richmond grew my confidence as a player but most importantly as a person, and carved a way for my development from youth upwards. The club helped provide stability and structure in my week as well as a family environment, to support me through studies and work.”
— Gabby Spencer, Former 1st XV Player

If you're ready to challenge yourself, develop your game, and become part of one of the most historic clubs in women’s rugby – we want to hear from you.
